Even though I was my own photographer for my first set of pictures, I had a friend help for the reshoot (but did most of the directing/bossing around).
I wanted to create a story with minimal distraction and chaos around it -- it's a simple story, so why complicate it? -- so by creating a story where only the important things remained in color, the story didn't seem so set; setting wasn't a vital part nor an aid in figuring out what was happening in the photos.
Overall, the story was a fluffy, lighthearted piece with no other intention than to entertain the ideas of eating too much dessert too quickly. You could also say that it promotes gluttony, but that message might be conveyed more clearly if I were eating a whole pie rather than just one slice.
